The team from the Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH), in collaboration with the team from WHEEL, both responsible for the development of the iAMA navigation applications, visited the ANIMUS rehabilitation center, in Larisa. The goal of this visit was to test and evaluate the developed systems on patients suffering from some form of paralysis.

The systems were tested on patients suffering from diverse disorders, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and spinal cord injuries. Both navigation systems (robotic car and wheelchair navigation) were tested succesfully, while the team had the opportunity to document various user comments, regarding the improvement of the systems and their individualization, based on the special needs of each patient. The ANIMUS visit was covered by the journalist Maria Michou in an article for the daily newspaper ‘Politeia Larisaion’ (Issue 29, 8 May, the article can be found here).
